Security
Strong Customer Authentication
In September 2019, a new regulation for authentication was introduced under the new Payment Services Directive (PSD2) that applies to online payments within the European Economic Area (EEA). One of the main implications of PSD2 is the introduction of Strong Customer Authentication (SCA), a safety standard that will improve security in the payments sector. Basically, asking for a client’s credit card is not secure enough for online transactions, so additional steps are required. Our portal, therefore, uses two independent authentication elements to verify the payments we receive.
Why we ask for your date of birth details during the payment process?
Age verification
Age verification interrupts the checkout process to verify age pre-payment. Integrated with the checkout process, age verification occurs in the background before a customer’s payment is accepted and processed. Laws state that consumers’ ages must be checked before a transaction occurs, so it’s important that this happens before your online payment gateway processes the transaction.
